Women make half of the population of Pakistan, yet their share in the GDP is by no means close to that of the second half of the population.
Women in rural areas suffer the most and this suffering has increased with the latest focus on technology. The nontech skills have faced a sudden disinterest by the investors, CSR funds, and Women focused ventures in favor of technology.
This disconnect in amidst the era of inclusively widens even more for the women in the rural areas of Azad Jammun & Kashmir, where power connectivity yet needs to be addressed to enable the rural community to access technology.
Sukh Saanjh Foundation leaps forward to bridge this gap by establishing small Centers for Women’s Entrepreneurship, Leadership, & Skills Advancement through its WELSA incubators.
We focus on upskilling the women in nontech industry ( farming, stitching, sewing, weaving, teaching etc.) and then modernising their skills through various levels of support from accessible technology.
In Kashmir, we established our first WELSA Incubator with help of local community and Helping Humanity Organization in Tehjian Village of Sharda, Neelum Valley.
The officers from the local army unit were invited to inaugurate the center, while the Chairperson Sukh Saanjh Foundation, Dr. Shagufta Jabeen (PhD), and its Patron-in-Chief ACM Sohail Aman (R) remotely addressed the trainees and appreciated their zeal toward the path of empowerment.
