Our Strategic Pillars

Our Strategic Pillars

Women Development

(WELSA CENTER)

WELSA (Women Entrepreneurship, Leadership & Skills Advancement) Center advances inclusive development by training women—nearly half of Pakistan’s population—in entrepreneurship, leadership, and practical skills. These programs equip women to drive social impact, strengthen economic growth, and contribute to long-term national prosperity. WELSA’s signature training program, Samajhdar Maan aur Gharana (Smart Moms & Families), lies at the heart of this mission.

Samajhdar Maan Aur Gharana

(Smart Moms & Families)

The Samajhdar Maan aur Ghrana program is an 8-week evidence-informed training program designed to empower mothers with essential life skills in parenting, health, nutrition, financial literacy, hygiene, and emotional well-being. Through dedicated engagement sessions with male family members, the program creates a ripple effect of family-wide support, healthier behaviors, stronger relationships, and lasting community impact.

Youth Development

(Nurturing Future Leaders)

With 22.8 million out-of-school children (UNESCO, 2022), Pakistan faces one of the largest education challenges in the world. Beyond schooling, young people also lack safe spaces for creativity, leadership, and personal growth.

Environment

(CleAir)

Article 9 of Pakistan’s Constitution guarantees the right to life, which inherently includes the right to a clean and healthy environment. The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs 12, 13, and 15) further remind us that climate action is everyone’s responsibility.

Global Humanity

(Insaniyat)

This is not merely a cause; it’s a commitment to uplift the spirits of humanity and show our solidarity with them in the trying times. We speak for global humanity and we call it ‘Insaniyat’

Caring for a child who has lost a parent takes more than good intentions, it takes skill. That's the thinking behind the Advisory and Training workshop we ran last week with Aghosh, Al-Khidmat Foundation's orphan care network: practical sessions on child psychology, communication, and trauma-sensitive caregiving for the house mothers and trainers who raise these children day to day. Partnerships like this are exactly what 'Sukh Saanjh' means to us, shared peace, built together, one caregiver, one child, one home at a time. Pakistan causes less than 1% of the problem. We're paying one of the highest prices for it. Pakistan generates less than 1% of global greenhouse gas emissions, yet it consistently ranks among the world's most climate-vulnerable countries, having been placed as high as 5th on the Global Climate Risk Index. This is the injustice at the heart of the climate crisis: those who contributed least are often hit hardest. CleAir's 1,000-tree pledge for 2026 is our local answer to a global imbalance. Spanking doesn't do what most parents hope it will. A 2016 analysis covering five decades of research and more than 160,000 children found physical punishment was consistently linked to worse behavior over time, along with higher rates of anxiety and aggression later in life, not better outcomes. Positive discipline, clear limits, natural consequences, and calm follow-through, builds the same respect for boundaries without that fallout. It's a core teaching in our Samajhdar Maan aur Gharana sessions on discipline. Support Our Cause: To support our cause, drop us a text, or donate directly using the account details below. If Pakistan closed its gender gap in employment, GDP could rise by 60%. If women's labor force participation in Pakistan matched men's, the country's GDP could rise by an estimated 60%. This is not a marginal opportunity, it is one of the single largest untapped economic levers available to Pakistan today. Every woman trained through WELSA, every mother who completes Samajhdar Maan aur Gharana, is a small but real step toward unlocking that potential, for her family, and for the country. Telling a child 'you're so smart' can quietly backfire. In a landmark Columbia University study, children praised for being intelligent became more afraid of failure, gave up faster, and performed worse on hard tasks than children praised for their effort. Praise built around ability taught kids that it's fixed; praise built around effort taught them it can grow. 'You worked hard on that' does more for a child's future than 'you're a genius' ever will. Pediatricians just changed their advice on screens, and it's not about counting hours anymore. For a decade, the American Academy of Pediatrics recommended strict time limits for young children. Its newest guidance shifts the focus instead toward protecting family time, sleep, and play from being displaced by a screen. In other words, the real question for a parent isn't 'how many hours', it's 'what did the screen take the place of today?'
