Shazia Naz – The Saving Jar That Brought Peace

From Cohort 6: Samajhdar Maan aur Ghrana Program, Oct 2025

My name is Shazia Naz. Before joining the program I struggled to manage household expenses. I spent my husband’s salary without saving anything, focusing on wants rather than needs. I could not manage the monthly budget, which often caused stress and arguments with my husband. In the Budgeting and Entrepreneurship session I learned to distinguish between needs and wants and took part in the Saving Jar activity, which encourages setting aside a portion of money as savings. At home I prioritized essential needs, avoided unnecessary wants and made my own saving jar. Now I manage our monthly expenses efficiently, save regularly and feel less financial stress. This has also improved my relationship with my husband, as small arguments about money have stopped. The session gave me practical skills and confidence in handling finances, and created a more peaceful and organized home.
